      Number

There are two types of number. They are the following:

(i) Singular Number

(ii) Plural Number  

      Singular Number

The noun that describes 'only one' person or a thing is called singular number. For example: boy, pen.  

•     Chair is singular because here is only one chair                     
•     Book is singular because here is only one book              
•     Girl is singular because here is only one girl                        
•    Mobile is singular because here is only one             

      Plural Number

The noun that describes 'more than one' person or thing is called plural number. For example: boys, pens etc.

                       Chairs                                                                     Books

Chairs are plural because here is more than one chair.

Books are plural because here is more than one book.  

                         Girls                                                                      Mobiles

Girls are plural because here is more than one girl.

Mobiles are plural because here is more than one mobile.
