### Information

Information is organized or processed data. For example, 85, 90 and 30 are numbers i.e. data. By themselves, they do not reveal what they are. However, if they are written as:

Subject                                Marks

English                                85

Science                               90

Mathematics                      30

Then they become meaningful and are referred to as information.

Few statements are given below; select which of them are correct.

1. An output that computer generates after processing the sets of data is called as information.

2. Computer is a processing device.

3. Fact and figure are the data.

Which one of the following options is correct?

(A) 1 and 2 are correct

(B) 2 and 3 are correct

(C) All of these are correct

(D) none of these are correct

Explanation

Correct Option:

(C) In the computer you enter data in the form of fact and figure. Then computer processes it and you get output.

Incorrect Options:

(A) Option (A) is incorrect.

(B) Option (B) is incorrect.

(D) Option (D) is incorrect.

Which one of the following options is correct?

(A) The Input is called DATA

(B) The output (Result) is called INFORMATION

(C) Both (A) and (B) are false

(D) Both (A) and (B) are true

Explanation

Correct Option:

(D) Input that you feed to the computer is known as data and the output that you get from the computer is known as information.

Incorrect Options:

(A) Not only option (A) is correct but option (B) is also correct, that's why option (A) is incorrect.

(B) Not only option (B) is correct but option (A) is also correct, that's why option (B) is incorrect.

(C) Both statements are correct that's why option (C) is incorrect.
