2nd Class EVS Animals Domestic and Wild Animals

   Introduction

We have studied about the plant in previous chapter. Plant and animal both are living organism, whereas animals are known as the consumer and plants are called producer in food chain, because plants provide food for animal. Let us learn about different types of animal in this chapter.

       Domestic Animals

The animal which depends on human for their food and shelter is called domestic animal. Cow is a domestic animal which is used by the human for milk and other purpose. Horse is used for traveling from one place to another.

The following are the characteristics features of domestic animals:

They live with human.

Domestic animals depend on human for food, shelter, etc.

They are not dangerous for the human being like wild animals.

         Look at the following picture of some domestic animals and their use:

     Wild Animals

Animal which lives independently in the forest is called wild animal. Most of the wild animals are dangerous. They do not need human beings for their food and shelter.

The following are the characteristic features of wild animals:

They are non-domestic animals.

They can live without humans.

Some wild animals are land animals, while some are water animals.

They do not need people to provide them food, shelter or breeding partners.

Some of the wild animals are neither flesh eaters nor they are dangerous for human.
