Soil is a thin layer of earth's crust, which serves as a natural medium for the growth of plants. In fact, soil is a source of minerals for plants. Plants also get water via soil, which is necessary for their growth. As life of human and other living organisms is fully dependent on plants, soil is also very important for the life of living organisms.
