An object has moved through a distance. Can it have zero displacement? If yes, support your answer with an example.       [NCERT]

    Answer:

Yes, even when an object moves through a distance it can have zero displacement.                 For example, consider the motion of a car from position A to position B as shown below.   Now let us consider that the car, again comes back from B to position A. Thus, the total distance travelled by the car (from A to B and from B to A) = AB + BA = 30 + 30 = 60 km But as the final position coincides with the initial position, the displacement is zero.
