                  (i) Agro based?These industries use agricultural products as raw material, e.g., cotton, woolen, jute, silk, textile, rubbers and sugar, tea, coffee and edible oil. (ii) Mineral based?are those industries which are based on Minerals as raw material, e.g., iron and steel, cement, aluminium, machine tools, petro- chemicals.
