Who designed the Swaraj flag? What were the features of this flag? How was it used as a symbol of defiance?

Mahatma Gandhi designed the Swaraj Flag in 1921. It was a tricolour (red, green, white) flag and had a spinning wheel in the centre. It represented the Gandhi an ideal of self help. The three colours of the flag stated that red stood for the sacrifice of the people, white for purity and green for hope.
