Write about the ideology of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

    Answer:

In 1980, the leaders and workers of the former Bharatiya Jana Sangh founded the Bharatiya Janata Party with Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee as its first President. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) designates its official ideology and central philosophy to be integral humanism. The party labelled as 'Hindu Nationalist' and  advocates social conservatism, self-reliance as  outlined by the Swadeshi Movement and a foreign policy centred around key nationalist principles. Cultural nationalism or 'Hindutva' is an important element of BJP's conception of Indian nationhood and politics. BJP wants full territorial and political integration of Jammu and Kashmir with India, a uniform civil code for all people living in the country irrespective of religion and ban on religious conversion. BJP became the political voice of the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir Movement, which was led by the activists ofViswa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The party's platform is generally considered as the right wing of the Indian political spectrum.
