Explain the cause of the US involvement in the war in Vietnam. What effect did this involvement have on the life within the US itself?

    Answer:

Spread of communism in Vietnam was the major cause for the US involvement in war against Vietnam. Worried about communists gaining power, the US decided to intervene decisively, sending in troops and arms. Ho Chi Minh and the communists took power in the North while Ngo Dinh Dien built an authoritarian government in the South Vietnam. All these causes led the US entry into the Vietnam War. In spite of its advanced technology and good medical supports, 47,244 US citizen died in battle and 30,370 were wounded. The US suffered a huge loss of men and money power in this war.
