Why \[NaCl\] gives a white precipitate with \[AgN{{O}_{3}}\] solution but \[CC{{l}_{4}}\] does not?

    Answer:

\[NaCl\] is an ionic compound and hence gives \[C{{l}^{-}}\] ions in the solution which combine with \[A{{g}^{+}}\] ions given by \[AgN{{O}_{3}}\]to form a white precipitate of \[AgCl\] but \[CC{{l}_{4}}\] is a covalent compound and does not give \[C{{l}^{-}}\]ions.
