Here the areas A and B are equal but of opposite signs because the net displacement of the person in going to post-office and coming back is zero.                                                     The time-displacement graph is as shown in Fig. 2(a).26(b). In this graph, as the velocity of person in going is less than that of return journey, hence the slope of portion OA is smaller than that of portion BC because the slope of time - displacement graph gives the velocity.
