A man can jump higher on moon than on earth. With same effort, can a runner improve his timing for 100 m race on moon as compared to that on earth?

    Answer:

The man can jump higher on moon than on earth, because the acceleration due to gravity on moon is less than acceleration due to gravity on earth. However, acceleration due to gravity has no effect on horizontal motion. Therefore, a runner cannot improve his timing on the moon for 100 meter race.
