    Answer:

      (a) (i) Carbonyl group on reduction with zinc amalgam and cone.  gives alkane. This is called Clemmensen reduction. (ii) Aldehyde having nohydrogen on reaction with cone.  gives alcohol and salt of carboxylic acid (b) lodoform test. No reaction.
