  What are different types of spectrums of antibiotics? Give one example.

Answer:

                       (i) Broad spectrum antibiotics : They kill or inhibit a wide range of gram-positive and gram-positive and gram negative bacteria e.g. Ampicillin, amoxycillin.                      (ii) Narrow spectrum antibiotics: Those effective mainly against gram positive or gram-negative bacteria are narrow spectrum, e.g. Penicillin G.                      (iii) Limited spectrum : Antibiotics which are effective against a single organism or disease are referred to as limited spectrum.
