      How does antiseptics and disinfectant differ in their use?

    Answer:

      Antiseptics are chemicals which either kill or prevent the growth of microorganisms. They are applied to the living tissues such as wounds cuts, ulcers etc. e.g. Furacin and soframycin. Disinfectants are also used for killing or preventing the growth of microorganisms. But these are not applied on tissues these are used on floors, drainage system etc. e.g. 1% solution of phenol.
