Why do primary amines have higher boiling points than tertiary amines?

    Answer:

Primary amines are engaged in intermolecular association due to hydrogen bonding between nitrogen of one and hydrogen of another molecule. 3°-amines do not have intermolecular association due to absence of hydrogen bond formation. Therefore 1° amines have higher boiling points than 3°-amines.
