The gases which are liquefied more easily have a greater tendency to get adsorbed on the surface of the adsorbent than the gases which are liquefied with difficulty. Assign reason.

    Answer:

Gases which are liquefied more easily generally consist of polar molecules e.g. \[HCl,\,\,N{{H}_{3}},\,\,S{{O}_{2}}\] etc. This means that they have greater attraction towards the surface of the adsorbent. These are adsorbed more readily on the surface of the adsorbent as compared to gases like \[{{H}_{2}},\,He,\,{{N}_{2}}\] etc. which consist of non-polar molecules that have comparatively lesser attraction towards the surface of the adsorbent.
