      Account for the following : (i)  has higher boiling point than (ii) is a diprotic acid. (iii) is called oxygen difluoride and not fluorine oxide why?

    Answer:

      (i) Due to formation of intermolecular H - bonding N has higher boiling point than PH.. (ii) In the structure of  only two hydrogen atoms are attached to oxygen which are acidic and replaceable. Hence it is a dinrotic acid. (iii) As fluorine is more electronegative than oxygen sc compound of oxygen and fluorine are called oxygen fluorides and not fluorine oxides.
