    Covalent solid Molecular solid
    1. Constituent particles are held by network of covalent bonds. 2. Made of non-metal atoms. Constituent particles are held by weak van der Waals forces or hydrogen bond. Made of atoms or molecules.
    3. Hard. Soft.
    4. Insulator except graphite. 5. Very high melting point. 6. Examples : Diamond, graphite, quartz, carborundum,   Insulator. Low melting point. Examples:  Naphthalene, camphor, Solid  (dry ice).
