    Answer:

Abel wakes up from sleep and comes down the stairs. He smells something fishy about the behaviour of everyone present in the room. He looks at Ben and Mrs Jordan and asks the reason of their coming. He understands that nobody is happy to see him. Victoria shows her happiness as she finds him alive and well. Abel's suspicion goes up when he finds them wearing mourning. Moreover, his bureau and the clock have been shifted from his room and Henry is wearing grandfather's new pair of slippers. All these things were making him suspicious about their behaviour. The things became clear when in a state of frustration Elizabeth reveals the truth that he was supposed to be dead and the Slater's were stealing his belongings. Everything was clear before Abel. He come to know the truth of his daughters and their husbands. He understood that they did not love him and wanted to grab his belongings. Hence, he decided to change his will. He planned to destroy the first one and make another.
