If\[x-\frac{1}{x}=9\], the value of \[{{x}^{2}}+\frac{1}{{{x}^{2}}}\] is

    A)  83

    B)         79

    C)  11

    D)         7

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

Given   \[x-\frac{1}{x}=9\] Square both sides, we get                 \[{{x}^{2}}+\frac{1}{{{x}^{2}}}-2x.\frac{1}{x}=81\] or            \[{{x}^{2}}+\frac{1}{{{x}^{2}}}-2=81\] or            \[{{x}^{2}}+\frac{1}{{{x}^{2}}}=81+2=83\]
