Slope of the line that passes through points (0, -2) and (3, 0) is

    A)  \[-\frac{3}{2}\]

    B)         \[-\frac{2}{3}\]

    C)  0

    D)         \[\frac{2}{3}\]

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

We know that slope of the line passing through points \[({{x}_{1}},{{y}_{1}})\] and \[({{x}_{2}},{{y}_{2}})\] \[m=\frac{{{y}_{2}}-{{y}_{1}}}{{{x}_{2}}-{{x}_{1}}}\] Let \[({{x}_{1}},{{y}_{1}})=(0,-2)\] and \[({{x}_{2}},{{y}_{2}})=(3,0)\] Hence slope of the line that passes through  points \[(0,-2)\] and \[(3,0),\]                 \[m=\frac{(0)-(-2)}{(3)-(0)}=\frac{0+2}{(3)}=\frac{2}{3}\]
