    In alkaline medium, \[KMn{{O}_{4}}\] first reduced in manganate & then in insolusle manganese dioxide. \[2MnO_{4}^{-}+{{H}_{2}}O\to 2Mn{{O}_{2}}+2O{{H}^{-}}+3[O]\] In acidic medium, Manganous  sulphate formed \[MnO_{4}^{-}+8{{H}^{+}}+5{{e}^{-}}\to M{{n}^{2+}}+4{{H}_{2}}O\].
