Why fruits fall down from a tree, when its branches are shaken?

Answer:

                Before shaking the branches, fruits are at rest. When branches are shaken, they come in motion while the fruits tend to remain at rest due to inertia of rest. As a result fruits get detached from the branches and fall down.
