A chicken wakes up early in the morning and goes to sleep by sunset. Why?

                In a chicken's eye, the retina has a large number of cones but only few rods. The rods are sensitive to bright light only. That is why a chicken is not able to see in dim light. As it needs bright light to see, so it wakes up early in the morning with the sunrise and goes to sleep by sunset.
