In the following diagrams, diagrams, indicate which of the diodes are forward biased and which are reverse biases.

    Answer:

                        (i) Forward biased, because p-side is at higher potential\[~\left( +\text{ 7 V} \right)\] than n-side\[\left( +\text{ 5 V} \right)\]. (ii) Reverse biased, because p-side is at lower potential \[\left( 0\text{ V} \right)\] than n-side\[\left( +\text{ 2 V} \right)\]. (iii) Reverse biased, because p-side is at lower potential \[\left( -\text{1}0\text{ V} \right)\] than n-side\[\left( 0\text{ V} \right)\]. (iv) Forward biased, because p-side is at   higher potential \[\left( -\text{ 5 V} \right)\] than n-side\[(-\text{12 V})\]
