    Solution :

               Let the equation of line \[\frac{x}{a}+\frac{y}{b}=1\]            Given\[a=b\]. So, equation of line is \[x+y=a\] .....(i)            Line passes through (2, 4)            From equation (i), \[2+4=a\]. So, \[a=6\].            \[\therefore \] Equation of line \[x+y=6\] i.e., \[x+y-6=0\].
