Water is heated from below. Why?

    Answer:

When water is heated, its density decreases and it rises up. Cooler liquid of the upper part takes its place and so convection currents are set up and water gets heated up. If heated from the top, it will conduct very small amount of heat to the bottom because water is poor conductor of heat.
