\[SI\] is a rational system of units while mks system is not so. Justify.

    Answer:

\[SI\] assigns only one unit to a particular physical quantity so it is a rational system. For example, all types of energies are measured in joule in \[SI\]. But in mks system, mechanical energy is measured in joule, heat energy in calorie and electrical energy in watt-hour. So mks system is not a rational system of units.
