  • question_answer
The tangent to the curve \[y={{e}^{2x}}\]at the point (0, 1) meet the axis at:

    A) \[(0,4)\]

    B)  \[(2,0)\]

    C)         \[(-1/2,0)\]

    D)         none of these

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

We have, \[y={{e}^{2x}}\] On differentiating both sides w.r.t. \[x,\]we get \[\frac{dy}{dx}=2{{e}^{2x}}\]                 \[{{\left( \frac{dy}{dx} \right)}_{(0,1)}}=2{{e}^{o}}=2\] Equation of tangent at the point (0,1) is \[(y-1)=2(x-0)\] \[y=2x+1\] This line meet the \[x-\]axis at \[y=0,x=\frac{-1}{2}\]
