    A)  progesterone

    B)  estrogen

    C)  estradiol

    D)  all of these

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

Estrogen, estradiol and progesterone are female sex hormones. Estrogens are secreted from the cells of Graafian follicles. The principal feminising estrogen is estradiol. It stimulates the development of female secondary sexual characteristics. Progesterone is secreted by the corpus luteum of the ovary. It stimulates development of uterine epithelium and mammary glands. Both estradiol and progesterone are required, for ovulation.
