    Pneumotaxic centre is a respiratory centre. Pons varolii is situated in front of the cerebellum below the mid brain and above the medulla oblongata. It relays impulses between the medulla oblongata and more superior part of the brain, between the hemispheres, of the cerebellum and between the cerebrum and cerebellum. It contains centres that work with those in the medulla to regulate breathing. Cerebellum controls rapid muscular activities such as running, typing and talking. Medulla oblongata receives and integrates signals from spinal cord and send resulting signals to the cerebellum and thalamus. It contains centres that regualte heart rate, blood pressure, vomiting, coughing etc.
