In the reaction, \[{{N}_{2}}(g)+{{O}_{2}}(g)2NO(g)-180.7\,kJ\] on increasing the temperature, the production of NO

    A)  increases

    B)  decreases

    C)  remains same

    D)  Cannot be predicted

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

Given, \[{{N}_{2}}(g)+{{O}_{2}}(g)2NO\,(g)-180.7\,kJ\] For this reaction, \[\Delta H=+180.7\,kJ\] Positive value of \[\Delta H\]shows that the reaction is endothermic. According to Le-Chateliers principle, in case of endothermic reaction, increase in temperature, shirts the reaction towards product side. Thus, on increasing the temperature, the production of NO increases.
