A convex mirror of radius of curvature 1.6 m has an object placed at a distance of 1m from it. The image is formed at a distance of

    A)  \[\frac{18}{3}\]m behind the mirror

    B)  \[\frac{18}{3}\] m infront of the mirror

    C)  \[\frac{4}{9}\]m behind the mirror

    D)  \[\frac{4}{9}\]m infront of the mirror

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

    Given, \[f=\frac{1.6}{2}=0.8\,m\] and \[u=-1\,m\]                 \[\frac{1}{f}=\frac{1}{v}-\frac{1}{u}\]                 \[\frac{1}{v}=\frac{1}{0.8}-\frac{1}{-1}=\frac{10}{8}+1=\frac{9}{4}\] \[\Rightarrow \] \[v=\frac{4}{9}m\]
