    Solution :

    White ring of \[N{{H}_{4}}Cl\] will appear nearer to the \[HCl\] end. The reason is that \[HCl\] (mol. Wt = 36.5) is heavier than \[N{{H}_{3}}\] (mol. wt = 17). Hence, according to Grahams law of diffusion, the rate of diffusion of \[N{{H}_{3}}\] will be higher than that of \[HCl\]. \[\frac{{{r}_{1}}}{{{r}_{2}}}\frac{\sqrt{{{M}_{2}}}}{{{M}_{1}}}\]
