    Solution :

    Let pole strength of magnet is m. Then, magnetic moment\[M=mL\]       ...(i) On cutting the magnet into two parts each of length L/2 (pole strength will be same). So, new magnetic moment \[M'=m\times \frac{L}{2}\] From Eq. (I) \[M'=\frac{M}{2}\]
