    The ionic radii  \[{{N}^{3-}},\] \[{{O}^{2-}},\] \[{{F}^{-}}\]and \[N{{a}^{+}}\]follow the  order

    A)  \[{{N}^{3-}}>{{O}^{2-}}>{{F}^{-}}>N{{a}^{+}}\]

    B)  \[N{{a}^{3-}}>N{{a}^{+}}>{{O}^{2-}}>{{F}^{-}}\]

    C)  \[N{{a}^{+}}>{{O}^{2-}}>N{{a}^{3-}}>{{F}^{-}}\]

    D)  \[{{O}^{2-}}>{{F}^{-}}>N{{a}^{+}}>N{{a}^{3-}}\]

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

    \[{{N}^{3-}}\] \[{{O}^{2-}}>\] \[{{F}^{-}}>\] \[N{{a}^{+}}\]
    Number of electrons \[10\] \[10\] \[10\] \[10\]
    Number of protons \[7\] \[8\] \[9\] \[11\]
All the ions contains same number of electrons. Due to the presence of greatest number of protons in \[N{{a}^{+}},\] its effective nuclear charge \[({{Z}_{eff}})\] is highest. So its radius is smallest. \[{{N}^{3-}}\] contain smallest number of protons. Its effective nuclear charge is lowest and therefore, its ionic radius is longest.
