A light ray is incident on a prism in minimum deviation position and suffers a deviation of \[34{}^\circ \]. If the shaded half of the prism is removed off. Then the same ray will suffer a deviation of :

    A) \[0{}^\circ \]

    B) \[68{}^\circ \]

    C) \[34{}^\circ \]

    D) \[17{}^\circ \]

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

As length of medium is halved the deviation is halved: So,          \[\delta '=\frac{\delta }{2}=\frac{{{34}^{o}}}{2}={{17}^{o}}\]
