The slope of the anode and mutual characteristic of a triode valve are 0.04mA /V and 2.0mA/V respectively. What are the triode constant?

    A)  50

    B)  25

    C)  75

    D)  40

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

                    The slope of anode characteristic curve is \[\frac{1}{{{R}_{p}}}=\left( \frac{\Delta {{i}_{p}}}{\Delta {{V}_{p}}} \right)\] \[=0.04\,mA/V\] Plate resistance                 \[{{R}_{p}}=\frac{1}{0.04\times {{10}^{-3}}}=25\times {{10}^{3}}\Omega \] The slope of mutual characteristic curve is                 \[{{g}_{m}}=\left( \frac{\Delta {{i}_{p}}}{\Delta {{V}_{g}}} \right)=2.0\,mA/V\]                 \[=2.0\times {{10}^{-3}}mho\] Amplification factor,                 \[\mu ={{R}_{p}}\times {{g}_{m}}\]                 \[=25\times {{10}^{3}}\times 2.0\times {{10}^{-3}}=50\]
