    The velocity of a body moving with uniform acceleration at a given instant of time is 10 m/s. After 5 seconds its velocity is 20 m/s.            Distance travelled in that time is :

    Solution :

                    Here: \[u=10\text{ }m/s,\text{ }v=20\text{ }m/s,\text{ }t=5\text{ }sec\] From equation of motion, \[\upsilon =u+at\]                 \[20=10+a\times 5\] So,        \[a=2\,m/{{s}^{2}}\] Now from formula, \[{{\upsilon }^{2}}={{u}^{2}}+2as\]                 \[{{20}^{2}}={{10}^{2}}+2\times 2s\] so,          \[s=\frac{300}{4}=75m\]
