In birds, lizards, snake, land snails and insects, the nitrogeneous waste is excreted in the form of uric acid. Therefore, they are called uricotelism. In aquatic invertebrates like polycheate, annileds, aquatic crustacean, aquatic molluscs, bony fishes, aquatic amphibians etc., the nitrogeneous waste is excreted in the form of ammonia. Therefore, these are called as ammonotelism.
