                    Root mean square velocity, \[\overline{u}=\sqrt{\frac{3RT}{M}}\] \[=\sqrt{\frac{3pV}{M}}\] \[=\sqrt{\frac{3p}{d}}\] \[\left[ \because \,\,\frac{M}{V}=d \right]\] At constant pressure,                                \[\overline{u}\propto \sqrt{\frac{1}{d}}\].
