If 100 kWh of energy is consumed at 33 V in a copper voltameter, what is the mass of copper liberated? (Take ECE for copper as \[0.33\times {{10}^{-}}^{6}kg/C\])

    A)                  1 mg

    B)  1 kg

    C)                  3.6kg

    D)  3.3kg

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

                    \[E=100\text{ }kWh\text{ }=100\times 1000\times 60\times 60J\]                                 \[\text{E}=\text{Vq }=\text{33q}\]                     So,      \[q=\frac{36x{{10}^{7}}}{33}C\]                 Also      \[m=Zq\]                 \[=\frac{0.33\times {{10}^{-6}}\,\times 36\times {{10}^{7}}}{33}\]                 \[=3.6kg\]
