    Given geometric series is \[2+6+18+54+...\] Here,  \[a=2,\,r=\frac{6}{2}=3\] Sum of first 8 terms \[=\frac{a({{r}^{8}}-1)}{r-1}\] \[=\frac{2({{3}^{8}}-1)}{3-1}\] \[={{3}^{8}}-1=6561-1=6560\]
