Which of the following curve shows, how oxygen is loaded and unloaded due to partial pressure?

    A) \[{{\text{O}}_{\text{2}}}\]curve

    B) \[C{{O}_{2}}\] curve

    C)  Bohrs curve

    D) \[{{\text{O}}_{\text{2}}}\] dissociation curve

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

The oxygen-haemoglobin dissociation curve under normal conditions is sigmoid shaped. The lower part of the curve indicates dissociation of oxygen from haemoglobin whereas the upper part indicates the acceptance of oxygen by haemoglobin. The shifting of oxygen-haemoglobin dissociation curve to the right by carbon dioxide partial pressure increasing is known as Bohr effect.
