    Vasopressin influences:

    A)  electrolyte efflux

    B)  nerve excitability

    C)  water reabsorption

    D)  all of the above

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

Vasopressin (Antidiuratic Hormone-ADH) is a peptide hormone secreted by the posterior lobe of pituitary (neurohypophysis). It increases the reabsorption of water in the distal convoluted tubule, collecting tubule and collecting ducts of nephrons of the kidney. The involuntary muscles in the walls of the intestine, gall bladder, urinary bladder and blood vessels are stimulated to contract by vasopressin.
