    A)  Mg

    B)  Ca

    C)  B

    D)  Mn

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

Magnesium is a component of chlorophyll and an important binding substance for ribosomal sub-units. Its deficiency causes inter veinal chlorosis, development of anthocyanin and depression of internal phloem. Middle lamella is composed of calcium and magnesium pectate.  The deficiency of calcium  causes ultimate death of meristem, which are found in shoot, leaf and root tips. Manganese acts as an enzyme activator in respiration and nitrogen metabolism. Its deficiency causes gray speck of oats, marsh spot of peas and speckled yellow of sugarbeet. Boron [B] is involved in the transport of carbohydrates. Its deficiency causes heart rot of sugarbeet, internal corck of apple, water core in turnip, and stem crack of celery.
