MGIMS WARDHA MGIMS WARDHA Solved Paper-2014

  • question_answer
For a reaction\[A+2B\xrightarrow[{}]{{}}C,\] the amount of C formed by starting the reaction with 5 moles of A and 8 moles of B is

    A)  5 mol

    B)  8 mol

    C)  16 mol

    D)  4 mol

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

As from reaction; \[A+2B\xrightarrow{{}}C\] It is clear that 1 mote of reacts with 2 mole of B to from 1 mole of C. \[\therefore \] 4 mole of A will react with\[2\times 4=8\] mole of B to from 4 mole of C. Here, B is limiting reagent. 1 mole of A remains unreacted.
