  • question_answer
Two inductors each of inductance \[L\] are connected in parallel. Their equivalent inductance will be

    A)  zero

    B) \[\frac{L}{2}\]

    C) \[2\,\,L\]

    D) \[L\]

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

Inductance of first inductor\[{{L}_{1}}=L\] Inductance of second inductor\[{{L}_{2}}=L\] Inductance connected in parallel, the equivalent inductance is given by                 \[\frac{L}{{{L}_{equi}}}=\frac{L}{{{L}_{1}}}+\frac{L}{{{L}_{2}}}=\frac{L}{L}+\frac{L}{L}=\frac{2}{L}\] Hence,  \[{{L}_{equi}}=\frac{L}{2}\]
