    Solution :

     Since, straight line cut equal intercept on the axes. \[\therefore \]Equation of line is \[x\pm y=a\]          ... (i) Since, it passes through the point\[(1,-2)\] \[\therefore \] \[a=1\pm (-2)\] \[\Rightarrow \] \[a=-1,3\] \[\therefore \]Required equation of line is \[x+y=-1\] \[\Rightarrow \] \[x+y+1=0\] and       \[x-y=3\] \[x-y-3=0\]
